How It Works
The Public Space eLibrary represents a collaborative initiative between Genius Saeculi and City Space Architecture, designed to advance the knowledge and expertise of researchers and professionals working in public space design, implementation, management, and long-term impact assessment.
The Public Space eLibrary operates as an advanced search tool that leverages semantic algorithms and artificial intelligence to provide sophisticated query capabilities across a comprehensive database of over 1,000 open access resources. The core collection primarily draws from key initiatives developed by City Space Architecture, encompassing The Journal of Public Space, Public Space Academy, Mastering Public Space, and Museo Spazio Pubblico. The database is further enriched with curated open access content sourced from established academic and professional repositories, as well as contributions from partners within City Space Architecture's global network of collaborators and affiliated institutions. The database is curated by Genius Saeculi and is continuously expanded with additional sources to enhance its comprehensive coverage.
Additionally, content can be accessed through keyword searches, providing access to diverse materials including research articles, design projects, reports, podcasts, short films, artistic works, and community events all related to public space.
We provide the opportunity to explore The Public Space eLibrary through a selection of pre-formulated questions readily accessible at no cost on the landing page, which have been curated to demonstrate the platform's capabilities and guide users through key research areas. Additionally, the free plan allows users to conduct a limited number of AI-enhanced searches per month and provides access to basic articles through standard search functionality.
By subscribing to Basic or Premium plans, users gain access to expanded or unlimited AI searches per month, along with additional services that include a more comprehensive database and enhanced AI capabilities for advanced research needs.
The Public Space e-Library has been co-funded by the Emilia-Romagna Region with a grant for the Cultural and Creative Industries.
